About
I'm ashmartin — a designer and builder based somewhere quiet. I make tools for thinking and reading, and I write about the process: the constraints, the tradeoffs, and the things that didn't work.
Most of my work lives at the edge of design and engineering. I care about things that are useful without being complicated, and beautiful without being decorative.
Previously at some company. Currently working on typeset and figuring out what's next.
Now
- Building typeset v2 Redesigning the reading experience with better typography controls.
- Writing more, publishing less Trying to develop a consistent practice before worrying about audience.
- Reading: Ways of Seeing John Berger. Late to it, but it's landing hard.
Say hello
I'm slow to reply but I do reply. If it's about a project collaboration or something you're building, I'm especially interested.
